Viewing and Accessing (PDF) Forms

There are two main PDF versions of the forms provided on this web site. An interactive and a non-interactive version. The interactive version contains fields that allow data input. This means you can 'fill out' a PDF form with the required information.

The interactive PDF forms only allow you to type your details onto the form. To file your documents you will still need to print them and file them in the traditional manner using the paper version.

For the Application for Divorce there is also another PDF version. This version permits the information that you have provided to be scanned at the registry. To use this PDF document you need Version 6.0.2 of Adobe Acrobat software which is available free from the Adobe site. You will first need to successfully install Adobe Reader version 6.0, you can then install the new 6.0.2 update from within version 6.0. Firstly go to the Help menu, choose Updates, and follow the instructions.

You cannot save the PDF forms with your details added using Acrobat Reader, as a Save As function is not available. You should enter your details and then print the document.

You can save pdf documents only if you have a licensed version of Adobe Acrobat or another pdf writer.

To access a form on-line go to the relevant page of a specific form and 'click on' the underlined link.

You will need Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer for this feature to work.

When you click on the relevant link the form will either be displayed within your browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape etc.) or in a separate window. How it is displayed depends on the setup of your computer.

Depending on the setup up of your computer the PDF form may not be automatically displayed. A window may appear asking you if you wish to view or save the form. In this case you will need to select the option you require. Note: in this case "save" means download the file onto your computer.

It may take a while to display depending on the size of the PDF file, the capabilities of your computer and the speed of your internet connection. If you have trouble viewing or accessing a PDF form try referring to the troubleshooting hints.

If find when you type on a interactive PDF form the text disappears when you move to the next data field, check your version of Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat. This problem is usually corrected by using Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat version 4.0 (or higher).

Download Acrobat ReaderTo view and print PDF files you need a copy of Acrobat Reader. You can get a free copy of Acrobat Reader from the Adobe website.
