When is this form used?

This form is approved for use to review a decision of a Registrar; see Subrule 20.02(1).

General information

An application for review must be made within:

- 28 days for certain divorce related matters (see r 20.01 Federal Magistrates Court Rules 2001),
- 21 days in bankruptcy proceedings (see r 2.03 Federal Magistrates Court (Bankruptcy) Rules 2006,and
- 7 days for all other matters.

An application must be listed for a hearing as soon as possible and, unless impractical to do so, within 14 days after the date of filing. The applicant must serve a sealed copy of the application on each other party to the proceeding within 7 days after it is filed. Unless the Court or a Registrar otherwise orders, the application does not operate as a stay of the exercise of power under review; see Subrule 20.20.
