Judgments

What is a judgment?

A judgment is the decision of the Court. A judgment will usually contain an outline of facts of the case, a discussion of the evidence and references to relevant legislation and case law upon which the decision is based.

Publication of judgments

Not all of the judgments of the Federal Magistrates Court are published. Those that are published are judgments that raise an interesting issue of law or which comprehensively deal with a legal issue.

Copies of the Court's judgments are available from the AustLii web sites.
